Blind Self-Clinching Nut, Stainless Steel BSO Series, M2-M6 Threads - FastenTech

Blind Hole Self-Clinching Studs (BSO, BSOS) are fasteners used in sheet metal or PCBs to provide threaded connections and support spacing between thin plates. They are typically designed for installation from one side of the material where no protrusion is allowed on the opposite side.

Working Principle
The functionality of blind hole self-clinching studs relies primarily on the engagement between their internal threads and fasteners such as bolts. During installation, the hex head of the stud is pressed into a pre-punched hole in the sheet metal using a press. Since the diameter of the pre-punched hole is generally slightly larger than the cylindrical outer diameter of the stud, the surrounding material undergoes plastic deformation. This deformed material is forced into the annular recess (lock groove) of the stud, securely riveting it to the sheet metal. As a result, a firmly anchored internal thread is formed in the sheet, allowing reliable connections with bolts or other fasteners.

Application

Sheet Metal and Enclosures
Ideal for assembling metal structures such as chassis and cabinets, self-clinching technology enables secure connections between thin plates, particularly suited for applications with strict space constraints.

Electronics
In PCB connections, blind hole self-clinching studs provide component fixation and spacing support, preventing protrusions that could interfere with subsequent assembly processes.

Industrial Equipment
Commonly used in equipment exposed to humid or harsh environments for extended periods, blue-white zinc plating enhances surface corrosion resistance and extends service life.
