Structural Principle
The semi-tubular rivet consists of a solid shank and a hollow tail section. During installation, specialized tooling applies axial compression to the tail. This forces the thin-walled hollow section to undergo plastic deformation, flaring outward to form a clinch fastening with a diameter larger than the original hole. This permanent, non-removable mechanical lock eliminates the risk of wire breakage in securing apparel accessories. Compared to traditional binding rivets, it is better suited for riveting soft materials.
